DOHA: Training and Educational Development Center of Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday launched the fourth edition of the programme to train 245 new teachers that have been employed by the Ministry to work in public schools in different areas.
The programme aims to provide new teachers with needed information and skills for their new job. The programme will also give them awareness with the topics related to teaching and extending them with professional expertise to support and strengthen their success in school.
The programme includes important topics such as education policies, remedial plans and lessons planning, in addition to teaching strategy and evaluation methods. Each year, the training material is modified according to feedback from the educational field.
Launching such a programme aims to enable the teachers that were employed from other Arab countries to smoothly merge into the teaching environment in Qatar which may be similar or vary from schools in their countries.
Director of Training and Educational Development Center, Hessa Al Ali, said the program has been developed this year to comply with the revised course materials and to fit its role as a qualifying tool for the teachers in terms of teaching policies related to the ministry.
She added that many training programmes will be announced with the news academic year as well as a training program’s guide for all the targeted categories.
Professional development specialist and supervisor of the program Abeer Issa Al Hazaa highlighted the success of the initiative and its positive impact it has had in its fourth year, which reflects the admiration of many new teachers, given the important educational topics it provides.
