In Doha, Qatar, the SkillFest exhibition has kicked off across four different locations: Msheireb Galleria, Place Vendome, Mall of Qatar, and West Walk. The festival, running until August 15, invites visitors to immerse themselves in local arts, crafts, and culture, emphasizing sustainability and inspired by Qatar’s marine environment.
According to a statement from Visit Qatar issued on Wednesday, SkillFest is the first event of its kind, showcasing local creativity and community interaction. The exhibition features exhibitions on Arabic calligraphy, astronomy, and sciences, displays of manuscripts and anecdotes, pavilions highlighting local marine creatures, and photography exhibitions by Qatari photographers. Additionally, artisan markets offer products from 24 artists.
Hamad Al Khaja, Head of Events and Festivals Technical Support Section at Qatar Tourism, described the festival as educational, cultural, and enjoyable. He encouraged participation in artistic workshops and exhibitions that celebrate Qatar’s local culture and marine environment.
SkillFest is open daily from 11am to 10pm, except on Fridays when it operates from 2pm to 10pm. Entry to the exhibition is free for all attendees.
