Doha: Weather inshore until 6 pm on Thursday will be dusty to blowing dust scattered clouds with a chance of light rain may be thundery at places, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of expected thundery rain at places with strong wind and poor visibility.

The department also tweeted a warning to residents that due to northerly wind across the country, dusty conditions are prevalent thus affecting the visibility.  It also shared safety precautions during such conditions.

There are also further warning to avoid sea activities due to strong wind and high waves.

Meanwhile, sporadic rains were reported in northern and western areas of Qatar.

The daily report added offshore, it will be dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy with chance of rain by maybe thundery at time, the report added, warning of expected thundery rain at first with strong wind and high sea.

Wind inshore will be northwesterly to northerly 12 to 22 knot, reaching 32 knot at places at times. Offshore, it will be northwesterly 17 to 27 knot, reaching 35 knot at first.

Visibility will be 04 to 08/02 kilometer or less at places at times.

Sea state inshore will be 2 to 5/6 feet, while offshore it will be 5 to 8/12 feet.
