QSE’s main index closes at 9,886.86 points

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) benchmark index lost 94.36 points, 0.95 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday afternoon at 9,886.86 points.

Trading value during last week decreased by 16.63 percent to reach QR1.01bn compared to QR1.21bn.

Trading volume decreased by 7.04 percent to reach 38.18 million shares, as against 41.07 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 1.29 percent, to reach 18,470 transactions as compared to 18,711 transactions, reports QNA.

Market cap fell by 0.63 percent to reach QR547.04bn as compared to QR550.53bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 40.64 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 21.89 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 12.83 percent and Transportation sector accounted for 8.96 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 74.69 points, or 0.75 percent, compared to Wednesday’s closing. The volume of shares traded decreased to 6.78 million from 10.25 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR172.74m from QR316.16m on Wednesday.
