Qatar Meteorology warns of thundery rain offshore; marine warning continues

Doha: Weather inshore until 6 pm on Thursday will be moderate temperature daytime with scattered clouds and chance of light rain at some areas, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report.

Offshore, it will be cloudy to partly cloudy with chance of scattered rain till afternoon thundery at times, the report added, warning of thundery rain associated with strong wind and high sea till afternoon.

On its twitter account, the department said that the “marine warning of thundery rain continues today until afternoon. According to the latest observations, the wave height ranges between 2-4 ft and is expected to rise to 7 ft with thundery rain.”

Wind inshore will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed of 08 to 18 knot, gusting to 25 knot at times.

Offshore, it will be southeasterly to northeasterly 08 to 18 knot, gusting to 25 knot with thundery rain.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 kilometer.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 3 feet, rises to 4 feet with thundery rain. Offshore, it will be 3 to 5 feet, rises to 8 feet with thundery rain.
