Qatar-France drill tests efficiency

DOHA: Qatari Amiri Naval Forces carried out a joint crossing exercise in cooperation with French Navy in the Qatari territorial waters.

The four-day tactical exercise included trainings on naval manoeuvres, air defence and air attack in addition to intrusion and inspection, defending vessels during sailing, landing by helicopter, and mid-sea exercises.

The exercise aimed to exchange experiences, test the efficiency of equipment and establish joint maritime relations between the two forces, in addition to enhancing the operational efficiency of vessel commanders.

Qatari Amiri Naval Forces (Fleet Command) participated in the exercise along with the Joint Special Forces (Special Naval Force), the Qatari Amiri Air Forces (Combat Wing) and the French Navy (Frigate Cassard).

The exercise comes within the framework of cooperation agreements between the two friendly countries in the fields of training and planning for the required military tasks and duties.
