Fuel prices in Qatar are going up for the fourth consecutive month, the Ministry of Energy and Industry has announced.
Starting on Feb. 1 (Wednesday), the cost of 91-octane, premium grade fuel will be QR1.55/liter, up 5 dirhams from current prices.
That’s 30 dirhams more per liter than it cost last June, when prices first began to vary every month.
Meanwhile the cost of 95-octane super gasoline will rise by 10 dirhams and will be QR1.65/liter, instead of QR1.55.
Diesel increase
For the second month in a row, diesel prices will also go up 5 dirhams to QR1.50/liter.
January was the first month the cost of diesel has changed since authorities introduced fluctuating petrol prices.
The move is likely to have an impact on the country’s construction, farming and manufacturing sectors, which rely on diesel-driven trucks to move their goods around the country.
Will changing fuel prices affect your budget? Thoughts?
