More than 100 food items now ‘Made in Qatar’

Doha: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday shared some achievements which Qatar made during last one year under siege including registration of 4,713 companies in 2017.

The Ministry posted info-graphics on its social media accounts. They reveal that around 100 food items got ‘Made in Qatar’ label in last year which were previously being imported from other countries.

It further said that 4,713 companies were registered at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in the last quarter of 2017. The tweet said that Qatar would achieve self-sufficiency in milk in 2018.

Exports increased 18 percent in 2017 to reach $67bn from $57bn in 2016. Hamad Port was opened in 2017 which is one of the biggest ports in the Middle East.

Fifty-two initiatives from private sector were taken to establish factories. It says that 90 percent of 2022 FIFA World Cup projects will be completed this year.
