DOHA: As the football World Cup in Russia is set to come to its close today, all eyes are now on Qatar. While soccer fans have loved the tournament in Russia, the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be an unforgettable experience for them.
Football lovers have already began to share their excitement about witnessing the world cup matches in person in Qatar instead of watching in couches in their living room.
“The count down to @roadto2022 starts now! #Qatar will be ready to showcase the best #WorldCup ever. Welcome to Qatar,” tweeted @shabeeraa.
Qatar has also attracted praise for its efforts to make the next World Cup memorable. American daily USA Today wrote yesterday an article titled ‘Qatar is the World Cup every fan should attend’ which elaborates on why soccer lovers should visit Qatar.
“Start saving up the pennies. Be ready when the sales period for game tickets opens. Because the next World Cup is likely to be the most fan-friendly that we’ve seen for a long time, perhaps ever,” noted the article.
Such positive reports about Qatar as a host of the next football world cup has further boosted the confidence of soccer lovers on Qatar.
“This has been the experience of a lifetime… This World Cup isn’t over and I’m already excited about the next one! Who’s going to Qatar,” tweeted @danielleerodas.
A hastag, #SeeYouIn2022, which was launched recently has also got momentum. The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) recently launched a short video ‘See You in 2022’ which has gone viral. The video shows Qatar’s rich tradition and its strong infrastructure.
One of the main factors responsible behind generating excitement among fans is the various activities hosted in Russia by SC, in partnership with other entities in Qatar. During the world cup, SC launched creative campaigns in Russia that showcased Qatar as a prime cultural and sporting destination and gave fans a taste of country’s plans for the 2022 tournament.
