Confidence is like a muscle, the more you build it the stronger it will be
Confidence, it’s something we all want and yet struggle to have consistently. Why? Because building confidence is like learning a new sport, you have to work at it every day. Just like learning tennis, it requires discipline. If you are willing to stay committed then in 3 months you can build your confidence significantly. Here are three ways to do it now:
Rewire your Mindset to be more positive: Your lack of confidence comes from adhering to the negative messaging that is inside your head. In order to take control of your confidence, you need to notice the negative messages and reverse them. Make sure that you’re consciously creating more positive messages than negative.
Value who you are: Everyone suffers from imposter syndrome. It’s part of being human. However, ignoring it and focusing on the things you appreciate and value about yourself is essential. Once you’re clear about who you are, what your zone of genius is and your specific value, you can stop comparing yourself to others and trying to be someone you’re not.
Build a Growth Mindset: According to Carol Dweck a growth mindset is critical for success because it’s all about trusting in your ability to grow and learn. If you can consistently grow and learn, then there are few obstacles that you can’t overcome. When you have a growth mindset, you trust in your capabilities.
These three behaviors require building a habit of mindfulness. You must be aware of how you’re depleting your confidence and then build it consistently. The good news is that confidence is like working your muscles, we all have the capability to make it strong.
