12 pilots graduated from QAC to join Qatar Airways

DOHA: Qatar Airways celebrated the accomplishments of the graduating class of Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) yesterday.

Among the college’s new graduates are 12 pilots and five aircraft maintenance engineers, who are set to shortly begin their professional careers at the national carrier of the State of Qatar.

The graduation ceremony was held at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), under the patronage of the Minister of Transport and Communications, H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and attended by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Aeronautical College Director General, Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar Airways Senior Vice-President Human Resources, Nabeela Fakhri, and a number of college officials, as well as parents and families of the graduates.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways is delighted to congratulate the Qatar Aeronautical College graduates on this accomplishment, and is thrilled to welcome them to the company.

These young graduates are the future of Qatar Airways, and represent our continuous efforts to support and nurture the next generation of talent here in Qatar.”

“This is a very proud moment, as we watch our nationals take the next step towards beginning their careers in service not only to our national airline, but to our beloved country, Qatar. With this ceremony, and with our continuous investment in our young Qatari students, we are one step closer to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Qatar Airways Senior Vice -President Human Resources,Nabeela Fakhri, said: “Qatar Airways is dedicated to providing our Qatari nationals with the necessary training and development to see them grow info future leaders of the national airline of the State of Qatar. Our nationals play a vital role in the future of Qatar Airways, and are encouraged to meet their career aspirations. We look forward to watching our new employees become ambassadors for Qatar’s national carrier, and to excel in their different roles within the company.”

This year’s graduates will commence their aviation careers with the pilots starting as second officers in the national airline, playing a pivotal role towards the growth of Qatar Airways, while the aircraft maintenance engineers will begin their careers in maintaining the safety and efficiency of Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways also sponsors young nationals from 35 different majors across the national carrier’s numerous departments through its Al Darb Qatarisation Programme. The tailor-made programme supports, develops and nurtures young talent, and equips nationals with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their field of choice in the airline.
