Doha: Indian budget airlines Air India Express will add one more additional flight to the newly-opened Kannur International Airport in Kerala, India, bringing the total operations by the airline in the sector to five per week.

Starting April first week, there will be five flights from Doha to Kannur and return operating on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Another Indian low-cost carrier Indigo had also announced that it will be starting daily non-stop flights to and fro on the Doha-Kannur route from March 15.

The airport is located at Mattanur in Kannur district of Kerala. It is the fourth international airport in Kerala after Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
