Amir concludes visit to France

Paris: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani concluded yesterday an official visit to the French Republic, during which he held talks with President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and a number of senior French officials, pertaining to bilateral cooperation in addition a number of regional and international issues of common concern. During the visit a number of cooperation agreements have been signed.
H H the Amir sent a cable to French President, expressing appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to His Highness and the accompanying delegation during the visit, which contributed to exchanging views on issues of common concern, promoting and supporting the close cooperation in various fields to serve the best interests of both nations, wishing him good health and happiness, and the French people further progress and prosperity.
In the framework of the official visit of H H the Amir, Qatar and France yesterday signed a number of agreements. An agreement between Qatar Free Zone Authority and Thales Group in order for the latter to open a branch in Doha. The two sides also signed an agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses between the governments of the two countries with the aim of promoting joint cooperation between the citizens of the two countries.
Another agreement was signed between the Qatar University and the University of Southern Brittany in order to develop the scientific cooperation between the two universities to benefit from the common capabilities, especially in the field of cybersecurity.
Moreover, a Letter of Intent was signed between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in Qatar and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the French Republic aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
