A young man has been sentenced to one year suspended jail term and levied a fine of QR10,000 for carrying an unlicensed firearm and a dagger.
According to local Arabic daily Arrayah, the youth was arrested following a complaint lodged by an eatery. The defendant had ordered a meal to be delivered to a particular address but left the place before the delivery boy could reach there.
After returning to the given location and not finding his food delivered, he headed to the restaurant and grabbed the delivery boy and began threatening him with an unloaded pistol, it is learnt.
A report was filed by the police following the case and the man was subsequently arrested. The weapons were later confiscated by the court.
