Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department has issued warning on its social media accounts to inform residents that strong Northwesterly wind exceeding 25 kt at times is expected to begin affecting the country.

There will be a noticeable drop in temperatures that can be expected to accompany the northerly wind.

In an alert yesterday, the department had warned that the wind speed is expected to range between 18 to 28 kt with gusts reaching up to 35kt in some areas. The windy conditions is expected to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 23-24) with a relative decrease in wind speed at night.

The Department urged residents especially those with respiratory diseases and motorists to be careful.
