Doha:  The Ministry of Public Health reported today 894 confirmed new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and 2632 cases recovered during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 86,597.

In addition, the Ministry announced 3 new deaths, aged 57, 58 and 67 – all of whom were receiving the necessary medical care. The Ministry of Public Health extends its sincere condolences and great sympathy to the families of the deceased.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 97897 and there are 11182 active cases under treatment. So far, 118 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 5593 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 366095 tests. There are 85 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours 6 patients were admitted to the ICU bringing the total number of people getting treatment in Intensive care to 187.

There has been a gradual decrease in the number of new daily and hospital cases during the past few weeks. We have seen a rise in the number of deaths in recent weeks, due to people who were infected during the peak of the virus several weeks ago.

“While the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following preventive measures: adherence to physical spacing, wearing a face mask and washing hands regularly,” MoPH said in a staement.

Anyone who suffers from symptoms / Covid-19 / must either contact the helpline on 16000 or go directly to one of the designated health centers to undergo the necessary checks: Muaither centers, kindergarten, Umm Salal, or Al Gharafa health. This is important because the sooner the disease is discovered, the easier it will be to get the correct treatment and recover from it.
