The weather is getting pleasant and there are many events – from magic show to superbike racing – happening all over Qatar. If you are a fashion enthusiast, don’t miss the 16th edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition or head to Katara and check out some interesting cultural activities.

Gipsy Kings to perform in Qatar

Renowned French band Gipsy Kings by André Reyes as part of their “Tour Gipsy Unidos” will perform in Qatar.

Performing for the first time in Doha, the Grammy winning band will impress their fans with popular hits of Bamboleo, Volare and Djobi Djobi among others.

The tickets for the show are priced between 125QR and QR795, of which the 125QR seats are sold out while the others are still available. Meanwhile, children below two years are not allowed for the show. Tickets are available on Q-tickets and Virgin Megastore

Cinema under the stars

As part of Discover America Festival 2019, Doha Film Institute and US Embassy Qatar will be screening movies daily starting today. The movies screened will include a Bug’s Life (today), Brave (Thursday, October 24), Monsters, Inc. (Friday, October 25) and Wreck-It Ralph (Saturday, October 26).

Bharathanatyam Dance Recital 

ICC Qatar is organising a Bharathanatyam dance recital by Anitha Hareesh (Kalakshetra Chennai). The founder of Mudra Arts Academy will be performing in ICC Ashoka Hall today.

Night of Korean Music

2019 World Superbike Championship

Fans can watch the final round of the 2019 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at Losail Circuit Sports Club.

World Superbike will feature the likes of Alvaro Bautista, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Alex Lowes all racing for the last time with their respective manufacturers, all keen to leave on a high.

Fans can buy tickets online in advance, the Grandstand tickets start from QR40 and WorldSBK VIP Lounge tickets from QR700. Children under 11 years old will have free entrance.

Exhibition of Indian gems and jewelry

More than 100 magnificent pieces of gems, jewelry, works on paper and photography are on display at an exhibition dubbed “Set in Stone: Gems and Jewels from Royal Indian Courts” at MIA as part of Qatar-India 2019 Year of Culture.

The most impressive object on display is known as the ‘Clive flask’, a 17th century jewel-encrusted jade flask that once belonged to Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive of Plassey (1725- 1774). This object- remarkable for both its beauty and provenance – is being displayed in Doha for the first time.

Another highlight is the magnificent necklace from Varanasi: composed of seventeen diamonds suspended with gold-collared emeralds surmounted by baroque pearls, this necklace showcases the continued opulence of 19th century Maharajas.

Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition 16th Edition

Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, Qatar’s most popular showcase of abayas and traditional Arabian attire, will return for its 16th edition with a rich programme of more than 20 fashion shows, seminars, designer workshops and 250+ brands participating in this exciting array of fashion.

This year’s edition also features international brands from 11 countries, representing 4 continents including neighboring Kuwait and Oman as well as India, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, China, Indonesia, Italy and Georgia.

Heya is open for women only except on the opening day (25 October), during which men can accompany family members. Children below the age of the 13 cannot enter the exhibition.

Mall of Qatar to host Qatari champion Barshim

Mutaz Essa Barshim, Qatar’s champion high jumper has won the Gold Medal at the IAAF Doha 2019 after clearing the 2.37 with his signature agility, ease and technique; will have a meet and greet to celebrate his win with fans at MoQ.

Fans will get a chance to meet and click pictures with the nation’s champion, Mutaz Barshim.

Local Dates Exhibition 2019

The local dates exhibition is being held for the second time this year by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Souq Waqif, with the participation of 56 local farms and Hassad Food Company.

The Mall of Qatar is hosting Neuroland, a mind-blowing experience for kids (aged five and above) and adults.

Head monitors measure heart rate and blood pressure giving you the amazing opportunity to drive, work, play and move any object with only the powerful force of your mind.

Asian Night Market 2019

The inaugural DC Asian Night Market 2019 is all set to celebrate cultural diversity through cuisine.

More than 30 Asian restaurants offering Korean, Filipino, Thai, Indian, Pakistani, Turkish and Arabic specialties are set-up at the market.

In addition, various community groups including choirs, theater groups, dance crews and singers will provide entertainment. An Acoustic Night will be part of the regular weekend programme.

There will be a photo booth to serve as souvenir of event visitors as well as free cupcake making for children aged five to 12 to be hosted by WASAHQ Culinary Arts, in addition to henna and face painting.

Entry to the market is free of charge.

Qatar’s Best Talents

Mall of Qatar’s ‘Qatar’s Best Talents’ will run again every Friday at the Oasis stage. Singing duets, hip-hop performances, folk dances and piano recitals are some of the excellent enter-tainment mix to be showcased as part of the programme.

‘Qatar’s Best Talents’, in their third season, showcases up to 10 performances in dancing, singing, and other performing arts selected by MoQ.

Scavenger Hunt

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is hosting a Scavenger Hunt for kids and adults of all ages. Rules for the hunt are simple, participants would look for a clue with a riddle on it and solve it to locate their next clue, clues are hidden inside the museum and players or teams with all the clues wins the hunt.

Participants can take part individually or in groups of 3 or 5. The price is QR 90 per person, QR 250 for group of 3 and QR 400 for group of 5.

Participants need to arrive 30 minutes before time.
