SC: Affected workers receiving due care

In a statement,the SC said it is dealing with the confirmed cases in accordance with the relevant procedures and directives of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), which provides medical care to those affected.
The workers who have tested positive are receiving constant care by specialists while under quarantine at a specialised medical facility of the MoPH. The period of quarantine is determined based on the condition of each case individually.

Besides, the people who had been in contact with those infected are also undergoing quarantine in the designated place at their accommodation facilities for 14 days as a precautionary measure, while being subject to regular monitoring of their health status.

The salaries of those workers shall be paid as usual through the duration of their quarantine in accordance with the procedures laid down by the government, which also guarantee free healthcare for all.
The SC has been conducting medical tests for all its workers since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, in view of the MoPH’s directives. Workers suffering from respiratory issues are subject to checkups by physicians and nursing teams at the worksite, according to the ministry’s directives in this regard, while the suspected Covid-19 cases are reported to the MoPH.

In addition, the SC has taken various preventive measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 such as distributing facemasks and sanitisers among workers at World Cup project sites, checking the body temperature of each worker twice a day, designating an adequate number of health quarantine rooms at all construction sites, banning unnecessary visits to the sites and holding awareness sessions at the worksites and accommodation facilities.
