The Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) from Qatar continues with a number of flights leaving for different destinations in India over the past couple of days.
According to the Indian embassy in Qatar, 64 flights have been operated from Doha under the mission so far, helping repatriate “11,434 passengers plus 277 infants”.

Later, 6E 8711 took off from HIA for Kannur with 154 passengers and seven infants, and 6E 8722 left for Bengaluru with 207 passengers and three infants.

These marked flights 60-64 from Doha under VBM, “bringing the total number of repatriated passengers to 11,434 plus 277 infants”, the Indian embassy tweeted yesterday.
On Friday, 6E 8702 had left for Thiruvananthapuram with 207 passengers, with 6E 8706 heading for Kochi with 205 passengers and two infants.

Meanwhile, the Indian embassies in Qatar and Brazil facilitated the repatriation of 14 Indian nationals stranded in Brazil through a VBM flight via Doha.
The Indian embassy recently published a list of 17 additional flights this month under the Vande Bharat Mission. It had earlier announced 51 flights in Part 1 of the fourth phase of VBM, running from July 7 until July 23.
The date has now been extended by a day, until July 24, according to the new list.
“While buying tickets online for forthcoming VBM flights, please do not buy tickets for destinations far away from your home state or hometown. You are likely to face additional difficulties regarding quarantine procedures and costs, in addition to transport to your hometown,” the embassy had tweeted.

It had also advised people to “please book seats on these flights directly online (IndiGo website) with your EOID number”. VBM repatriation flights will travel to Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kannur and Kozhikode in Part 1 of the fourth phase of VBM. All the flights are to be operated by IndiGo.
Besides VBM, thousands of Indians have also been repatriated on chartered flights hired by companies or community organisations.
