Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) emphasized the need to follow the general precautionary measures against the Coronavirus.

On its Twitter page, MOPH reminded people of Qatar to maintain physical distance of at least 1.5 meters between people. For indoor venues, a space of at least 9 m2 should also be observed for each person.

To prevent transmission, MOPH also encourages to avoid handshakes and all forms of physical contact. Wearing a mask, most especially, when surrounded by other people is also a must.

As part of the Ministry’s precautionary measures, the Ehteraz application must be installed in your mobile phones. This initiative seeks to protect the community from the Coronavirus. The Ehteraz application is now downloadable for Android and Apple users.

Applying thermal examination when entering an establishment or indoor venues also falls part in the precautionary measures.

MOPH reiterated the importance of maintaining proper hygiene by washing or sanitizing hand regularly. Regular cleaning and disinfection, especially of frequently touched surfaces is also highly encouraged.

People over the age of 60, pregnant women, and people with chronic diseases, are also advised to minimize their participation in social gatherings as much as possible.
