Ministry of Public Health today confirmed 616 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 1897 recoveries from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered from the disease in Qatar to 92284. The Ministry also announced five deaths.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 99799 and there are 7387 active cases under treatment. So far, 128 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 4553 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 381434 tests. There are 52 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.
In addition, the Ministry announces five new deaths, for people aged 50, 52, 58, 64 and 80 – all were receiving the necessary medical care.
8 patients were admitted in the intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 175.
“There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions. Now more than ever, we must be careful and protect the most vulnerable,” MoPH said in a statement.
The Ministry of Public Health urged anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery.
The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.
