The Public Transportation Security Department of the Ministry of Interior organized a meeting with the Qatar Rail to discuss the contingency scenario in Doha Metro in the presence of representatives from a number of Ministry of Interior departments participating in the mock drill including Civil Defense, Al Fazaa, NCC and Traffic Directorate.

Major Jassim Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti, Assistant Director of Public Transport Security Department, explained during the meeting the need to prepare and implement such operational scenarios in the metro stations in order to combine efforts in finding an integrated security system that is effective and in order to reach the best levels. The emergency plan was discussed in its theoretical framework, the procedures were reviewed and several procedures were agreed upon.

As part of that plan, a mock exercise was carried out at the economic station near Hamad International Airport to increase the readiness of all security authorities in preparation for the operational phase of the Doha Metro.
