Doha: Indian Embassy has published a list of vacant seats available in four Indian schools across Qatar.

It said that there are 164 seats available for KG-1 in three schools – Scholars International School (80), Loyola International School (39) and Olive International School (45).

As per embassy’s list 98 seats are available for KG-2 in the same three schools – Scholars International School (20), Loyola International School (73) and Olive International School (5).

Loyola also has seats available in grades 1 to 6.

Meanwhile, Noble International School has seats available in grade 11 (12-commerce), grade 8 (10) and grade 7 (1).

Olive also has some seats available in grade 3-7 and some in grade 9.

The Peninsula has not independently verified the number of seats available in these schools. Parents are advised to contact the individual schools for more details as some parents were replying to the Indian Embassy tweet saying some schools said that they don’t have seats available as shown in the list.

Many parents were also requesting Embassy to get the schools reduce the fees or increase seats in school with lower fees.

Earlier, due to the rush for admission in Indian schools Education Ministry had allowed 4 schools to start second shift. Many parents were trying to shift their wards to schools with much lower fees. Later the decision was put on hold by Ministry till further notice. This had caused some confusion among parents who had secured admission for the second shift.

With the opening of new Indian schools, the pressure for admission has eased considerably, but many parents were concerned about the higher fees in the new schools. The older community schools like MES, Ideal and Shantiniketan charge lower fess but are running at their maximum capacity and is not in a position to accommodate any more students.

But compared to other International schools, most Indian schools have a much lower fee structure.
