Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched a new service through the Metrash2 application, which will be very useful for motorists. The latest update of the app allows the owners of impounded vehicles to delegate someone to receive it on their behalf when it is released by the police.

The new service will benefit both individuals and companies. The new ‘release vehicle delegate’ service has been added for the convenience of the public and is one of the many services offered by the ministry through Metrash2.

The General Directorate of Traffic illustrated the steps in a tweet. After logging on to the Metrash2 account, open the “Traffic Services” option and choose “Vehicle Service” from the list and then select the “Release vehicle delegate” service. Once there, enter the personal data of the person who will receive the vehicle.

MoI recently updated the Metrash2 app on both Android and Apple playstores. The new service included in the new update include: sponsor change certificate, first procedure date change certificate, add delegation to the visa approvals, delete delegation of the visa approvals, add contracts (issue work visa), add/update contract for personal visa, approvals, collect impounded vehicle, vehicle loan transfer, traffic violation report, license test appointment, and security permit.

In the last few months, many new services were launched through Metrash2.

One of the services allows the public to object to traffic violations within 14 days of the issue date, whether the violation has been registered manually, by radar or through security cameras.

Metrash2 also allows community members to report traffic violations committed by others through the “Communicate with us” window in the app. In this case, users can report any violation they witness by taking a clear photograph of the vehicle and by mentioning the time and the location of the violation. Then, it will be double-checked before issuing the violation.

MoI now offers 20% discount if users choose to process the services online. This is in line with the ministry’s goal to become paperless while offering more accurate and convenient services that require minimal effort from the public.
