Ezdan Mall, Hassad Food join growing list of companies announcing rent waivers amid coronavirus

Ezdan Mall and Hassad Food have joined the set of companies that have waived rents for their tenants to help offset the coronavirus impact on their businesses in Qatar.

Ezdan Mall on Tuesday said it was exempting all retailers at Ezdan Mall Gharaffa, Ezdan Mall Al Wakra and Ezdan Mall Al Wukair from rental obligations of March, April and May, as a committed supportive initiative in facing the current challenges.

Hassad, Qatar’s premier investor in food sector announces an exemption from rent for tenants in Al Sailiya Central Market and Al Wakra Central Market for a period of six months from April to September 2020.

Earlier, the Mall of Qatar, Msheireb, Qatar Foundation and Manatec among others have issued similar circulars. The Barwa Real Estate company has postponed rental payments for three months starting from April.
