After the recent update of the EHTERAZ app (version 5.1 for iOS; version 8.0.3 for Android) this June 2020, many users have reported that instead of the normal color-coded QR code, a question mark was showing on the health status page of their app. This worried users since the EHTERAZ app is mandatory and part of the entry requirements for a lot of establishments in the country like supermarkets, malls, banks, parks, and government service centers. So if you have recently updated the app to its latest version and find a question mark on your health status, scroll down below to learn what to do next.

What to do when you get the question mark?

According to the technical support hotline 109, this is what users need to do when they get the question mark:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the application
  • If this doesn’t work, call 109 to open a technical support ticket for you. You will receive the ticket number through SMS. Wait for the call from the technical support team.

What are the other fixes?

If the above-mentioned steps didn’t work or you want to try other fixes before calling 109, here are other troubleshooting steps reported by other users that worked for them:

[NOTE: Make sure your Ehteraz app is updated and your phone’s OS is updated]

  • Settings > Apps > EHTERAZ > Clear Data and Clear Cache
  • Force stop the app in the App Info then open it again
  • Restart the phone then open Ehteraz again
  • Uninstall then reinstall
  • Click on the little yellow lock icon with “Press to verify”. The app will then ask for verification details
  • Close VPN then restart phone and app
