The Forum will be attended by  H E President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda,  H E President Armen Sarkissian of the Republic of Armenia, H E President  Nayib Bukele of the Republic of El Salvador,  H E the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, H E Vice- President of the Republic of Ecuador, Otto Sonnenholzner, H E  Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya, Fayez Al Sarraj, H E the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khairi, H E the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne and  H E the President of the  General Assembly of the United Nations, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.

H H the Amir will deliver a speech at the opening session of the Forum, in which His Highness will touch on  the danger of a multipolar world becoming a fragmentation as a result of the major powers shirking their responsibilities, especially law enforcement and international legitimacy.

The Forum’s programme, which attracts 3,000 participants from different countries of the world and more than 250 speakers, includes a set of plenary and discussion sessions and keywords centred on global topics and issues such as migration, refugees, extremism, global governance challenges, agency wars, as well as regional cooperation mechanisms and new global balances.

This edition will also see the launch of the Doha Forum Award, given for the first time in 2019 to an individual or organisation that demonstrates outstanding achievements rooted in the core values of Doha Forum — dialogue, diplomacy and diversity, said a statement issued earlier by the Doha Forum.

Doha Forum 2019 will also see the return of last year’s strategic partners including International Crisis Group, European Council for Foreign Relations, and Munich Security Conference, each of which will curate panel discussions and offer expertise into some of the world’s most pressing challenges around security, defence, humanitarian crises and foreign relations.

The 2019 Forum will tackle key themes including; Trends and Technology; Trade and Investment; Human Capital and Inequality; Security, Cyber Governance, and Defence; International Organisations, Civil Society and Non-State Actors; and Culture and Identity. Last edition brought together decision-makers, heads of state, ministers, business executives and advocates.
