Doha: H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior chaired the cabinet meeting this afternoon through video conferencing.

In order to complement the decisions and actions previously taken curb the spread of COVID-19, the Cabinet has decided to close all shops and suspend all commercial activities on Friday and Saturday of every week, with the exception of food supply stores, pharmacies and restaurants that do delivery, until further notice.

The Council called on citizens and residents to stay in their homes and not go out except in cases of necessity.

After the meeting, H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, made the following statemnet:

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council heard the explanation given the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments and developments to reduce the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19), and the Cabinet praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Public Health and its investigation and early detection teams and all its employees, including officials, doctors and cadres Medical and personnel, as well as the efforts of the competent ministries, institutions and state agencies that have been playing their role effectively and responsibly, and with high efficiency to protect citizens and residents and ensure their health and safety.
