Flying from Doha to Asia? Check these baggage rules

While flying out on vacation or holidays from Doha to Asian countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. expats always have one thing at the back of their minds, which is, not exceeding the allowed baggage weight on the airline they have chosen to travel with and at the same time carrying all the important things they want to carry. Since every airline has different baggage allowances, today we bring you a list of baggage allowance policy of the different airlines from Doha to these Asian countries.

Qatar Airways:

Qatar Airways gives baggage allowance of 50Kg for checked in baggage to their customers while travelling from Doha to most of the destinations in Asia. There is no restriction for the number of bags. One bag of 7 KG for economy and 15 for first and business class is also allowed as hand bag.

Saudi Arabian Airlines:

Baggage allowance for Saudi Arabian airlines depends on the passenger class. The Guest Class passengers are entitled to carry one piece of luggage weighing 25 kg (55lbs) maximum. First Class & Business Class passengers are entitled to carry two pieces of luggage, each weighing 25 kg (55lbs) maximum. All SAUDIA ALFURSAN (Gold/Silver) members and SkyTeam (Elite Plus / Elite) members are allowed to carry one extra piece not exceeding 23 kg (50lbs) in addition to the free allowed checked in baggage according to the traveling class. The airline charges SAR140 for each piece that is over the limit.

Emirates Airlines:

Emirates Airline gives baggage allowance of 40Kg to their customers while travelling from Doha. There is no restriction for the number of bags. One bag of 7 KG for hand carry is also allowed.

Gulf Air:

Gulf Air gives baggage allowance of 30Kg to their customers while travelling from Doha. There is no restriction for the number of bags. One bag of 7 KG for hand carry is also allowed by the airline.

Fly Dubai:

In economy class, passengers can pre-pay to check in 20 kg of baggage on any flydubai flight. Passengers looking to carry more baggage might be able to pre-pay to check in 30 kg or 40 kg if there’s enough space on the flight. The baggage allowance may be included in some fares. Passengers are allowed to check in up to 3 pieces of baggage, as long as their combined weight doesn’t add up to more than the baggage allowance you’ve paid for. Each piece of baggage has to weigh 32 kg or less and be smaller than 75 cm x 55 cm x 35 cm. Business class passengers can check in up to 3 pieces of baggage with a combined weight of 40 kg. Each piece of baggage must weigh 32 kg or less and be smaller than 75 cm x 55 cm x 35 cm.

Philippine Airlines:

You have two options for baggage allowance from Philippine Airlines to Asian countries from Doha. For passengers flying in Business/Premium Business Class passengers are allowed to carry 64kg for2 pieces with no piece exceeding 32kgs whereas in economy class you can carry two bags of 23 Kg each and in the Budget Economy class passengers are allowed one piece of baggage weighing not more than 23kgs. One bag of 7 KG as carry-on baggage is allowed for every passenger.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines:

Biman Bangladesh Airlines gives baggage allowance of 30Kg with a maximum of two pieces to their customers flying in business class while travelling from Doha to Bangladesh and 20kg in the economy class limited to two pieces.  The maximum weight permissible for a single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. One bag of 10 kg for business and 7 KG for economy class for hand carry is also allowed.

Sri Lankan Airlines:

Sri Lankan Airlines gives baggage allowance of 40Kg with a maximum of two pieces to their customers flying in business class while travelling from Doha, 30kg in the economy class and infants travelling in either of the classes are allowed to carry baggage weighing 10kg. Two bags of weighing 7kgs each are allowed for business and 1 piece of 7 KG for economy class as hand baggage.

Oman Air:

Passengers travelling on Oman Air’s award-winning Economy Class are allowed 1 piece of baggage of up to 30kg and passengers travelling on Oman Air’s award-winning Business or First Class are allowed 1 piece of baggage of up to 30kg and one additional piece of baggage of up to 20kg. Passengers holding valid Gold or Silver Sindbad Cards get some exclusive benefits while flying with Oman Air. In Economy Class such passengers are allowed 1 piece of baggage of up to 30kg, and 1 additional piece of baggage of up to 20kg where as Business or First Class holding these cards can carry 1 piece of baggage of up to 30kg and an additional piece of baggage of up to 30kg.

Etihad Airways:

Etihad Airways gives baggage allowance of 30Kg to their customers while travelling from and to Qatar. There is no restriction for the number of bags. One bag of 7 KG for hand carry is allowed.

Air India:

Air India gives baggage allowance of 30Kg to their customers while travelling from India to Qatar and 40KG while travelling from Qatar to India. There is no restriction for the number of bags. One bag of 7 KG for hand carry is allowed.
