Many Expats Prisoners Pardoned by HH The Emir As A Show Of Goodwill!

Qatar’s Emir His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued an Amiri gesture pardoning a number of prisoners, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, as reported by Gulf Times
The pardons are granted twice a year by the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim, once on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr and once on the occasion of the Qatar National Day.

The granting of pardon to the expat prisoners is seen a form of goodwill generating gesture by the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim towards the country’s large expat population.

Generally, people who have committed crimes such as theft, drug possession, fraud, etc. are pardoned under these programmes.

In years past, people were usually pardoned for crimes related to theft, drug possession or fraud, among other offenses.
