The Ministry also recorded during the past 24 hours, the introduction of 7 cases to intensive care cases due to health complications resulting from the virus, bringing the total of cases that receive medical care in intensive care currently to 190 cases.

Ministry of Public Health points to the decrease in the number of daily cases that need intensive care, and the number of daily cases that require hospitalization is also decreasing, but it warns that these may rise again if the community members’ commitment to precautions and preventive measures decreases.

The Ministry clarifies that the new cases announced to be infected with the virus today have been diagnosed through emergency departments or different health centers due to the presence of symptoms they have, as well as between contacts with whom the infection was transmitted from people who were previously infected, as the Ministry of Public Health continues to conduct investigative and proactive investigations, which Contributes to early detection of cases.

The new cases were introduced to complete isolation in the various medical facilities in the country, where they will receive the necessary health care according to the health status of each case.

The Ministry of Public Health states that the COVID-19 pandemic is gradually declining in the State of Qatar after passing the peak stage and the weak reproductive number of the virus, due to the precautions and preventive measures that the state has applied and committed to it by members of society with a decrease in the number of infections from the past period.  This is considered a reassuring indicator, but it does not mean the end as the virus is still present in society.

The ministry also states that the number of daily COVID-19 infections among citizens and residents (other than expatriate workers) has increased compared to May, despite the decrease in the total daily infections in the State of Qatar.

It warns that most of the infections in these two categories belong to the members of the same family, and that the source of the injury is often due to social mixing with friends or relatives, therefore it is necessary to beware of not being exposed or transmitting the infection, especially to the elderly and those with chronic diseases.

The Ministry advises to exercise greater caution than before, to continue to apply social distance, to maintain washing of hands, to wear a protective mask for the face, to observe caution when the person is near a family member of the elderly or with chronic diseases, reduce the number of necessary social visits and limit them to 15 minutes and maintain at a safe distance.

With the entry of the second phase of the plan to gradually tighten the restrictions imposed in the State of Qatar due to the Corona pandemic into effect from today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health reaffirmes the need to adhere to the requirements of the new stage and respect all the conditions related to it while continuing to follow the recommended preventive measures and measures by the concerned authorities in the country.

The Ministry stresses that the transition from one stage to another from the stages of gradual lifting of restrictions is subject to the cooperation of all members of society and their application of precautionary measures, and the necessity to adhere to the procedures in place determined by the Council of Ministers, including wearing masks outside and downloading the EHTERAZ application and social distancing.

The Ministry of Public Health warns that lifting restrictions gradually does not mean slackening in the application of precautionary measures and steps because the virus is still present in society, and that the degree of caution may lead to the possibility of a return of the epidemic in the form of a new wave of the spread of the virus in society.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health has developed indicators through which it assesses on a daily and weekly basis the current situation as a result of the gradual lifting of restrictions and then submits recommendations to the Council of Ministers regarding progress and transition from one stage to another stage of the deregulation plan.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Public Health urges anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to quickly contact the helpline (16000), or go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier the disease is detected, the easier the treatment and the chances of recovery are greater.

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.

The Ministry has dedicated this website to see the latest information and instructions related to COVID-19.
